FOREIGN DOMESTIC WORKER VISA

Foreign Domestic Worker Visa (FDW) is similiar to tourist Visa. The main difference with other Schengen visa applications is that in these cases the employer of the FDW is the sponsor of the applicant for the trip, since the domestic helper is accompanying her/his employer in her/his short term stay to Spain.

NP: THE DOMESTIC HELPER MUST HAVE BEEN WORKING AT LEAST 9 MONTHS WITH HER/HIS CURRENT EMPLOYER
Upon consideration of the non exhaustive list of the following documents, further supportive documentation may be requested in each individual case.

Visa applications whose main destination in Europe is Slovenia (short stays only) should apply at BLS INTERNATIONAL SERVICES office in Singapore.

The Revised visa fee and BLS service charge are as follows :

Note: Exemption of Visa Fee for a child is applicable only in the case of Short Term category, if the child's age is less than 6 years at the date of submission.

BLS International Service charge

Applicants applying at the Spanish visa application Centre shall be levied a service charge of 24.60 SGD /- (Includes GST@9%) payable in cash. Children under 6 are exempted from service charge.

Schengen Visa application form: completed, dated and signed by the domestic helper)

ONE photograph glued to the application form: recent (4,5cm x 3,5cm), showing the face, forehead hairline and ears on a white background.

Passport (Original and Photocopy of the identity pages). The passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the date of completion of their stay in the Schengen territory, with at least two blank pages available to stamp the visa. * Photocopy of previous Schengen visas within last 3 years and other third countries valid visas in the last year if available.

Singaporean work permit. Original and photocopy back and front. This document must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States. In the case that current Singaporean work permit is in process of renovation, proof from MOM or corresponding Singaporean authority must be provided.

Photocopy of the employer's passport (identity pages).

Photcopy -back and front of the Singaporean IC of the employer (e.g. employment card/ Dependant pass/PR card & REENTRY PERMIT).

Flight reservation or booking with confirmed dates of round trip (RETURN TICKET) for the domestic helper and the employer/employer’s family.

Proof of accommodation: including hotel reservation or similar confirmation of accommodation for the entire trip in the Schengen Area. In the case of accommodation owned/rented by the employer, a letter signed by the employer confirming the address of the accommodation is required, along with any proof of the ownership/rental of the property (utilities invoices, property registry, rental agreements, etc.)
• In the case of accommodation provided by any person (employer relatives/friends) residing in Spain, an official letter of invitation"CARTA OFICIAL DE INVITACION" issued by the Spanish Police is required.

Travel/medical insurance: coverage on medical expenses, repatriation and medical evacuation at least 30,000 EUR or its equivalent in SGD, per each stated benefit and valid for the entire Schengen area for the duration of the applicant's planned stay. COPY OF POLICY WHERE APPLICANT NAME, GEOGRAPHICAL AREA AND PERIOD OF COVERAGE IS STATED ALONG WITH THE SCHEDULE OF BENEFITS AND AMOUNT COVERED.

An updated letter from the employer’s company, stating the details of the applicant, employment duration, designation, and confirming the holiday granted.

  • For non working employers, updated letter from the employer spouse's company is required.
  • For self employed, final tax return and an updated statement of the ACRA is required.

Proof of the employer’s financial circumstances: by means of the latest 06 months of bank book statements, or bank account statements or fixed deposit statements. The NAME of the account holder must be the employer name and has to be stated in the statements. Bank accounts in either SGD; EUR; or USD will be accepted. If the employer does not hold sufficient means in the bank account, employer's spouse bank statetements must be submitted with a photocopy of the employer's spouse and marriage certificate.

REPORT BACK TO THE SPANISH EMBASSY UPON RETURN TO SINGAPORE: the domestic helper has to report back to the Embassy of Spain in Singapore within 15 days after her return to Singapore with her original passport and work permit. See form of COMMITMENT LETTER to be used for this purpose .

Please provide one recent photograph (not more than 6 months old) of yourself, which should not have been used previously in the passport. The photograph should be in colour and:

  • Taken against a white background so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background.
  • Clear share quality and with the face in focus.
  • Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
  • Full face, non-smiling [without sunglasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background]
  • Please stick the Photograph on the Visa Application Form.

Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete. A photo booth meeting these requirements is available at the centre..

Applications accepted at the Spain Visa Application Centre will be submitted on the next working day at the Embassy of Spain. Once the application has been submitted, the applicant can be further requested additional documentation in support of the same.

Visa Applications for certain nationals will require an additional security check that may result in longer visa processing time. Check the Annex 16 for the list of these countries.
